O'Meara Lab

The O'Meara Lab works at the intersection of fungal genetics, genomics, and host-pathogen biology. Our primary organisms are Candidozyma auris and Candida albicans, which are fungal pathogens with serious clinical consequences, especially in immunocompromised patients. We use forward and reverse genetic screens, co-expression networks, pangenomics, and host-cell biology to discover gene function, dissect virulence mechanisms, and identify antifungal targets.
